Pets are a joy to have in any household. The happiness and love they can bring are immeasurable; they are also great for teaching children responsibility and about love and loss. There is a downside to having pets, though; one of the biggest is that their hair moults.
Pets leaving their hair around might not be a big issue in some instances, such as on tiled floors, you can simply vacuum this up. But when it comes to pet hair on furniture such as lounges and chairs, this can become bothersome and sometimes vacuum cleaners just don’t cut it.
Of course, the most effective way to remove pet hair from furniture is to contact our expert team at Best 1 Cleaning and Pest Management. We have the right equipment to bring your carpets, lounges and dining chairs back to good as new, sans pet hair.
In between professional cleans, however, you might like some handy tips and advice on how you can remove this unwanted pet hair yourself.
If after vacuuming you find pet hair still remains, you can use moisture to remove what’s left. You can rub with a wet sponge on upholstery or carpet, this will cause fur to clump together and ball up. All you need to do then is pick up the clumps and discard.
You can also use wet wipes as a quick clean off but be careful using on lounge suites; carry out a test first to make sure the material does not react to the ingredients in the wipes.
If your lounge upholstery won’t become damaged, you can try using a hair roller to remove hair. This acts like a brush and takes the pet hair away. Alternatively, you can wrap sticky tape backwards around your fingers and brush down your lounge and seats. Naturally, because the sticky side is facing outwards the hair will attach to this.
Place a rubber glove on your hand or take a blown up balloon and rub it on the upholstery; this will remove the pet hair too. This is because a static magnetic-like effect happens when rubbing the rubber against the material and fur.
Of course, a good regular vacuum will help keep pet fur build up at bay. If you are ready to have a professional upholstery clean in order to get rid of pet fur and other odours and stains, give us a call at Best 1 Cleaning and Pest Management today.
