Bedbugs are a serious problem this year Best 1 have been called out to a number of jobs with a bedbug problem, this is the procedure Best 1 used to eradicate them from this home (pictures below).
First some information about these little bugs, they typically stay out of sight during day light hours and are more active during the night, they are attracted by the body heat of the host. After the meal they will return to where they harbour during the day this would be close proximity to the bed. Male, female and nymphs are all bloodsuckers. Their most important host is humans, but in some cases bats, cats and other animals may serve for feeding.
In the pictures below is a job completed by Best 1 Cleaning and Pest Control, the first thing we had to do was have an understanding of the problem, so we have to ask the home owner questions about the problem, such as is everybody in the family being bitten or is it an isolated problem and are the bites all over the body, bites will usually be all over the body and especially under arm pits and tops of legs, we can then build up a picture of the problem and decide the areas in which will need to be treated. In the case with the pictures below the problem was isolated to the main bedroom possible cause was from the husband, who worked in mine sites, mine sites have shared accommodation by a number of workers and this is where a problem can start, they can be carried from one place to the next without the host even knowing until they start to get bitten.
The way Best 1 treated this particular problem was to have all the bedding wrapped in black plastic bags and put outside in direct sunlight for a few hours, then a full deep steam clean of the mattress and carpets was completed paying attention to the edges of the carpets, then we did a full treatment using a pesticide for bedbugs this is targeted at the cracks and crevices and under the bed including taking apart the bed to reach all areas.
So having your bedbug problem treated can be a big job and may require more than one visit by the pest technician, all bedbug treatments should be followed up with a call to the customer a day or two later see if the problem has been solved. Some things to do to help prevent bedbugs is open windows and always open the curtains and let in the natural light, dusting and regular house work will also help.
The Mattress and bed frame have been treated for bedbugs along with all other cracks and crevices. Pest control companies throughout Brisbane Ipswich Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast would have to combine a pesticide treatment with a steam clean of all mattresses carpets and seats to gain control of a severe bed bugs problem.span>
